On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, six drivers, from the Mustang Club of San Diego drove six VIPs in the Holiday Bowl Parade. We were told, by the parade coordinators that this parade is the largest balloon parade in the U.S. I don’t know what Macys thinks of that statement. But you can see by the pictures, there were a lot of balloons in the parade. The drivers, in the parade, were; Jim Ackley, Pete Bishop, Steve Moxley, Sue Weinshanker, Tom Davis and Sheldon Jurist. The VIPs that were in our cats were; Dennis Dubard – Direct TV Holiday Bowl President, Direct TV Representative, Sea World mascot (mermaids blowing bubbles) & handler, National University mascot and VP, plus two port commissioners. The weather was great for a parade, low 70s with a moderate breeze.

Since we were driving the Holiday Bowl President, and his friends were holding the ropes to a giant football balloon, they had us stop twice, along the parade route, and ran around our car with the football balloon hovering above us. It was fun. This wasn’t recorded on the YouTube video, but the whole parade is on YouTube.
