A Wish Come True
The Make-A-Wish Foundation contacted the Mustang Club of San Diego regarding a young man from Ontario, Canada named Rudy. He wanted to visit San Diego as his wish and part of it was to attend one of our Evening Gearhead gath- erings to see our Mustangs.
At the event we had members from our club as well as Immortal Stangs, Next Level and Revolution Stangs. There were even some other vehicles (non-Mustangs) in attendance. There could have been a hundred Mustangs there!
Rudy got to drive two different cars. One was Paul Gooding’s 1969 Mach 1 and the other was Dennis Fowler’s 2016 GT 350. Paul’s is an automatic so Rudy could drive it right away. Since Dennis’ car has a manual transmission, Rudy need- ed a lesson, which Dennis provided him. The expression on Rudy’s face was priceless. Thanks to Dennis and Paul for affording him that experience.
Rudy took home a number of Mustang related items…..The Club gave him an embroidered MCSD jacket as well as a lifetime honorary membership. Rudy and his family received polo shirts too. Generous club members gave him a Shelby goodie bag, Hot Wheels Mustang cars, Mustang hero cards, a Mustang model to build and the book titled, “Art of the Mustang,” which members in attendance signed for Rudy. Our friends from Immortal Stangs presented him with a tee shirt as well. Thanks to all the members who came out to support Rudy’s wish!
