Our History
The Mustang Club of San Diego is a non-profit car club. AKA: The San Diego Mustang Club (SDMC) was formed in November, 1979 in El Cajon, California by eleven local Mustang enthusiasts. Our focus is owners and fans of America’s premier “Pony” car, the Mustang. Current membership stands at over 350. Our membership owns a wide range of Mustangs from totally original early production “1964-1/2” models to the most current year and models. The cars are pristine restorations, works in progress, daily drivers to mind blowing customs and race ready cars. So, if you have an interest in the Mustang platform in all it’s variations from original stock base models to the most outrageously customized GT500, Mach 1 or Boss (Even Mach E’s) are welcome here.
The Mustang Club of San Diego participates in, promotes and produces many events throughout the year including car shows, local cruise nights and community related activities and charities. We are proud to play host to the largest “single make” car show in San Diego County. Usually held in early October, our “Mustangs By the Bay” car show draws over 300 entries and thousands of fans annually.
