Mustangs By The Bay 2024 – Dawn Patrol
On the morning of the Mustangs By The Bay car show Mustang Club members and volunteers begin to arrive at Embarcadero Marina Park North around 5:00 am. There’s a lot of jobs to do before the show cars can be allowed into the park at 7:00 am. Like the volunteers who will guide the show cars into their respective classes. There’s also the volunteers who will hand out the registration packets. A team of people also descend on center stage to arrange the raffle prizes and set up tents and displays. A car show just wouldn’t be the same without a little music either. The DJ has to bring in his equipment and a generator to keep you entertained all day. This year the attendees were entertained by three different DJ’s covering the entire show grounds.
After a rapid training session for the parking crew and the popups are set up with tables and a few chairs for the workers it’s almost time to start parking the show cars. It seems the volunteers are not the only ones who were up at a very early time. Participants in this show are eager to come in and get parked, polished and setup for a day in the sun. The Port District for San Diego Bay puts strict rules about when we can start parking cars on the grass. 7:00 am is our mark. That doesn’t matter to the eager participants who started trying to line up as early as 5:30 am.
The Scouts of Troop 11 are arriving to setup to offer food and drink to the crew and participants. Their participation in Mustangs By The Bay helps train Scouts about business, food service and customer relations. Proceeds go towards Eagle Scout projects throughout the year.
Here’s a little look at the morning madness of Mustangs By The Bay.
