Sheldon and Sheila’s May Vacation
On Friday, May 9, 2025, Sheldon & Sheila left San Diego to drive to San Jose, California to spend Mother’s Day weekend with Sheila’s brother and family in San Jose. Due to Friday traffic, it took us 11-hours to drive to San Jose. Our daughter and son-in-law flew in from Las Vegas to meet us in San Jose. After we dropped them off at the San Jose airport, on Monday, we spent another day in San Jose and then drove to Sacramento for a meeting with the Association of California Car Clubs, Sheldon is the vice president and Sheila is the secretary. The meeting was held at The California Automobile Museum. It just happens that the museum was show-casing Ford Mustangs. The Mustangs, on display, ranged from the first year to 2025. It was a great display. Pictures, of the Mustangs in the museum in the gallery below.
From Sacramento we drove up to Santa Rosa, California to visit one Sheila’s longtime friends and spent two days with them. After Santa Rosa we drove to Monterey, California to have lunch with our granddaughter, she is in the Navy and is a student at the language school. We had lunch at a nice restaurant in Carmel-By-The-Sea, which happens to be where we spent our honeymoon 60+ years ago. After we dropped our granddaughter off, back at the base, we drove down to Paso Robles, California to spend the night at the Madonna Inn, before continuing to drive home. The total round trip was over 1,480 miles. On Friday, June 13th we are driving back to the Madonna Inn to celebrate our 61st anniversary.
